Trail Rail 33.5-mile run

Taft to St. Regis, Montana
20 June 2015
The course is a point-to-point ultra on a rail-to-trail conversion in southwest Montana -- mostly loose gravel.

6:30 a.m.: with the bus driver before the 35-mile drive to the start; he teaches business at the local high school

above: 10:49 a.m.: Savenac aid station, 19.5 miles to go; feeling good

11:39 a.m.: De Borgia aid station; feeling not so good

1:52 p.m.: Ward Creek aid station; 7.5 miles to go -- walking in

4:17 p.m.: Walked the last 10-plus miles to the finish

Glad to be done; note the finisher's award (a railroad spike with the race name and distance)
